About the Client:

Our client is a well-established commercial roofing contractor serving the Carolinas, known for delivering high-quality reroofing and new construction roofing systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional clients. They maintain a strong backlog and emphasize safety, team culture, and long-term client partnerships.

Position Overview:

The Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day field operations, crew scheduling, and project delivery for commercial roofing projects across the region. This leader ensures projects run efficiently, safely, and in alignment with company standards while supporting both field staff and project management teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations, workforce planning, and crew assignments

  • Oversee project execution to ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence

  • Partner with PMs on project planning, material logistics, and labor forecasting

  • Implement and uphold company safety policies and jobsite procedures

  • Support superintendent and foreman development through coaching and mentorship

  • Review project performance, labor hours, and production tracking

  • Coordinate equipment needs, subcontractor scheduling, and site resources

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial roofing or construction operations

  • Strong knowledge of low-slope roofing systems (TPO, EPDM, mod bit, BUR)

  • Proven leadership ability managing field crews and jobsite activities

  • Highly organized with strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Familiarity with Procore or similar project management platforms

  • OSHA certifications preferred

Day-to-Day:

  • Review daily schedules and assign crews, equipment, and materials

  • Communicate with PMs, foremen, and superintendents on project needs and milestones

  • Conduct field visits to monitor quality, safety, and production rates

  • Troubleshoot jobsite issues and support crews in maintaining project momentum

  • Update leadership on project progress, risks, and resource requirements

  • Ensure documentation, safety reporting, and jobsite records are properly maintained
