About the Client:

Our client is a premier façade and glazing contractor specializing in complex, custom unitized curtain wall systems for landmark projects across the Northeast. With a reputation for technical expertise and collaboration, they partner with leading general contractors, architects, and developers on some of the most ambitious high-rise and commercial projects in New York City.


Position Overview:

The Senior Estimator will play a pivotal role in the preconstruction process, focusing on large-scale curtain wall and façade projects. This individual must have extensive unitized curtain wall experience, with the ability to analyze drawings, review specifications, and build highly detailed project estimates. Working closely with preconstruction and business development leadership, the Senior Estimator will develop pricing strategies, attend client meetings, and support bid negotiations to secure major projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review architectural drawings, specs, and scope documents for accuracy and completeness

  • Perform detailed takeoffs for curtain wall, façade panels, storefronts, and related systems

  • Develop cost breakdowns and Excel-based project estimates

  • Lead preparation of bid proposals and RFP responses

  • Procure and evaluate vendor and supplier pricing

  • Identify value engineering opportunities and alternate design solutions

  • Coordinate with business development and preconstruction leadership during budgeting and descoping meetings

  • Maintain estimate files, incoming/outgoing logs, and proposal documentation


Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of estimating experience in commercial glazing/façade construction

  • Proven expertise in unitized curtain wall systems

  • Strong ability to interpret and mark up construction drawings and specifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite; AutoCAD experience preferred

  • Excellent math, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication skills for client-facing meetings and negotiations

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred


Day-to-Day:

  • Review drawings and mark up specs for scope alignment

  • Create detailed takeoffs and cost models in Excel

  • Attend internal and client-facing meetings to support budgets and proposals

  • Communicate regularly with vendors for pricing and lead times

  • Work with Preconstruction Director and Project Management on estimate handoffs

  • Balance multiple bid deadlines under pressure with precision and accuracy
