About the Client:

A leading façade contractor in the Southeast, this company specializes in high-performance building envelope solutions including curtain wall, architectural cladding, and exterior restoration. Known for delivering technically challenging projects with efficiency and attention to detail, they work across commercial, institutional, and historic sectors.

Position Overview:

They are seeking an experienced Estimator to join their Orlando-based preconstruction team. This role will focus on producing detailed cost estimates for façade and envelope packages, supporting the pursuit of new projects from concept through to final bid submission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review architectural drawings and specs for curtain wall, storefront, and glazing systems

  • Perform accurate takeoffs and cost estimates for glass, aluminum, labor, and equipment

  • Source and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing

  • Prepare bid proposals and support pre-bid meetings

  • Collaborate with project managers on scope, constructability, and value engineering

  • Assist in project handoff and maintain estimating records for future use

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of estimating experience in commercial glazing or façade subcontracting

  • Strong knowledge of glass, aluminum, curtain wall, and storefront systems

  • Proficient in Bluebeam, Excel, and takeoff software (e.g. PlanSwift, OST)

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings

  • Detail-oriented with strong math and organizational skills

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or similar (preferred)

Day-to-Day:

  • Analyze incoming bid invitations, drawings, and specs

  • Perform material and labor takeoffs for curtain wall, storefront, and window wall systems

  • Request quotes from glass and aluminum vendors

  • Build and refine cost breakdowns and pricing sheets

  • Review scope with PMs and assist in bid strategy

  • Submit proposals and follow up with GCs and clients

  • Maintain bid log and update historical pricing data
